SERVIR team members at the Coordination Office connect NASA scientific tools to existing tools in the hubs and provide support to and coordination of SERVIR projects globally. These team members also help coordinate among institutions within the countries and among SERVIR and its partners in the U.S. and abroad.

    Nancy Searby, an engineer and scientist by training, leads the capacity building program to improve the ability of local, regional, state, national, and multi-national stakeholders in both the United States and around the world to make decisions informed by Earth science observations and models.

      SERVIR Global Program Manager

      Dan Irwin, a research scientist by trade, created the SERVIR program in 2005 and has lead the team ever since. His passion is exploring how satellites and geospatial technologies help address pressing needs in developing countries across the globe. Outside of work, Dan enjoys travelling with his family and fostering community development projects in rural Guatemala.

        Ray French, is an aerospace engineer and engineering/technical manager by training and joined the SERVIR Team in June 2016. He began his career with NASA in 1987 as a guidance and navigation engineer and since then has held numerous technical and systems engineering, business, technology, project and program management positions.

          Ashutosh’s interests include hydrologic modeling, soil moisture remote sensing, and agricultural productivity assessments. He leads the global science portfolio for SERVIR. He loves to smile and tries hard to make others laugh (often without success). He and his wife spend all of their free time with their two daughters.

            SERVIR Staff Scientist

            Krishna is a remote sensing scientist by training and joined the SERVIR team in June 2016. His interests include land cover/land use change studies, fires, human ecosystem interactions, and air quality assessments in the US and South/Southeast Asia. Outside of work, Krishna and his wife enjoy their time with their two children. Krishna is also passionate about plants and delights in botanizing.

              Emily has a wide variety of interests including wetland ecology, land use land cover change dynamics, and finding new ways to apply GIS and remote sensing technology. In her free time she enjoys staying active, playing tennis, and traveling.

                  Billy is a seasoned senior software engineer with work experience focusing on GIS and custom mapping solutions. At SERVIR he manages the global website, creates unique software solutions, and helps to make regional data accessible through online mapping interfaces.

                    Melody is a graduate of Auburn University and has worked as a business/financial analyst for the past 25 years in commercial and governmental accounting. She is responsible for project control functions, including planning, development, analysis and reporting of the budgetary and operating requirements for SERVIR.

                      Dauna is a highly-experienced science writer. She writes articles for SERVIR’s website and handles many other communications-related activities for the project. She is an avid trail runner, hiker, camper, and dog-lover, and enjoys adventuring with her 6 year old grandson.

                        SERVIR-Himalaya Regional Science Coordination Lead and Weather & Climate Thematic Service Area Lead

                        Bill has over 25 years of experience in meteorology, hydrology, applied science and remote sensing. In SERVIR, he serves as the Thematic Area Lead for Weather and Climate and the SCO Co-Lead for the Applied Science Team. He is a golf junkie and enjoys time with his family, especially watching his sons play baseball.

                          Kathleen has over 14 years of experience as a Business/Technical Support Analyst. She's been a member of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office Team since 2010, supporting the SERVIRGlobal website and capacity building activities, as well as contributing to development of SERVIR imagery, logos, graphics and metadata.

                            Geospatial IT Lead

                            Francisco has worked with Geospatial Information for over 20 years. He leads a team of bright and enthusiastic GIS & IT experts at the SERVIR Coordination Office. He was born in El Salvador, and despite being Latin, he is not - by any means - even a decent salsa dancer, but he would like to be! Francisco likes sports, particularly basketball, which he practices as often as possible.

                              Lee’s experience and interests lie in agricultural and hydrological modeling with a focus on drought and agricultural water management. He loves being outside and enjoys most free time with his wife and son gardening and hiking.

                                Africa’s experience and interests lie in land cover land use change mapping, and ecosystem analysis including remote sensing of water quality. She oversees projects in Eastern and Southern Africa and is passionate about learning and finding innovative ways to use Earth Observations to better understand our world.

                                  Lance has worked with GIS-related software for over 15 years. He joined the SERVIR GIT team to support the many Geospatial data products and application development initiatives. He enjoys golf and fishing when time permits, loves spending time with his family, and is an avid college football fan.

                                    Paula has over 15 years of experience in project coordination. At SERVIR, she is a SharePoint Administrator, provides general coordination support: planning, coordinating, tracking, and reporting of SERVIR related project/element tasks and actions. She enjoys riding motorcycles, photography, painting, and spending time with family and friends.

                                      Kel holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth System Science with a focus in Ecosystems from UAH and is current working on his Master’s degree in Earth System Science. At SERVIR, he works on supporting ISERV operations and day to day tasks regarding remote sensing and GIS.

                                        Jennifer is a graduate of University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has 22 years of financial experience that includes both government and commercial. She has worked on NASA projects for the past 10 years. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys traveling, outside activities, and spending numerous hours with her family at soccer and cross-country meets.

                                          Rebekke holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. She started with SERVIR in April of 2016 as a Regional Associate providing support to the SERVIR West Africa hub. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, painting, and trying new things.

                                            Sarva is finishing up his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources Management from Brigham Young University. He is experienced in Hydroinformatics and has been actively developing Geospatial Web Applications since 2014. He is interested in developing tools that bridge the gap between researchers and decision makers.

                                              Rushi has expertise in the field of hydrological and system dynamics modeling and remote sensing, especially related to agricultural applications and climate change. She is primarily interested in applying her expertise for the advancement of science, and to help in decision making as well. Rushi is originally from Bangladesh, however she likes to think of herself as a global citizen.
